i really need to get better about blogging because by the time I think about it weeks have gone by and I have tons to write about. oh well....
My baby girl is 2 months. Oh my how the time flies!!! She is absolutely adorable if I don't say so my self!! =) She is growing up so fast. She started cooing and smiling 2 weeks ago. It is one of the greatest things to have your baby look at you and smile. She is getting better about holding her head up. We sat her in her Bumbo chair for the first time last night and she did great. She loves to lay on her activity gym and stare and coo at all the funny animals. Oh and she loves bath time.
Last weekend was OU/TX and even though OU lost, it was a great weekend. The Penlands came down for the game and stayed with us. Kaisley was so excited to see Tatum. =) We went to the Delays to watch the game with the Manacks, Penlands and Burnetts. It was fun to get all the kiddos together. I can't wait for them to be able to play together.
This week was my first week back to work. Our moms are watching Kaisley which made it so much easier to go back. We feel very blessed to have our families close by. I actually only worked two days because I came down with the flu on Thursday. Bummer!! It has been very hard to stay away from my baby but hopefully it won't be much longer. Today is our annual family reunion and I am obviously missing it which I am very upset about! =( Ryan still went and took Kaisley with him because none of the family has met her yet. So I am sitting here at my house while all my family is together... Okay enough of being negative!
Kaisley had her 2 month check up this week and it went very well. She is 9 lbs. 1 oz. and 22 1/4 in. She is getting so big!! We have started "tummy time" a couple of times a day. She actually likes it. They say that most babies don't like it.
Well thats about all the updating I can do today. I will try to update at least monthly.

Well Kaisley Grace is here! She came three weeks early on August 18th!! She surprised us just a little with her early arrival but we were so excited to finally meet her.
Here's the story of her arrival:
Friday August 14th: Went to doctor for a check up. No dilation, no effacement.
Monday August 17th: Woke up with a little cramping with my contractions but went on about my day. Had lunch with Jackie and Jenny then went and ran some errands with Jenny. I still felt the contractions but didn't feel the need to time them. Once I dropped Jenny off and headed home I noticed that the contractions were about 4 minutes apart and by the time I pulled in to my neighborhood they started getting stronger. My mom came over to help me finish putting away the last of Kaisley's things, however she ended up coaching me through my contractions. By the time Ryan got home I was in enough pain to feel the need to head to the hospital. We got our bags together and headed to the hospital. Unfortunately I was only dilated to a 1 and 0% effaced so they sent me home! I was VERY upset because the contractions were so painful that I just knew that she had to be coming very soon. After a much needed stop to Whataburger we headed back home. I continued to have contractions through the night and they continued to get stronger and more painful. I did not sleep at all, instead my wonderful husband stayed up with me and helped me get through each contraction. That class defiantly paid off. =)
Tuesday August 18th: At 8:30 I finally decided that we were going back to the hospital. I mean when you are crying through your contractions I am pretty sure you are in "active labor". So we get our bags and head that way. This time we had good news. I was dilated to a 4 and they told us we were having a baby. We were thrilled to hear the news but kinda scared at the same time...
By 11:30 I got my epidural and felt like a champ the rest of the day. I pushed for about 30 to 40 minutes and she arrived at 5:37PM, 6.5 lbs. 19 1/4 inches. It was such an amazing experience and to be able to go through it with Ryan made it even better. We had about 20 family and friends at the hospital all day waiting for her to get here. I loved everyone being there with us!! What a blessing it is to have such amazing friends and family!!
A couple of days after we brought Kaisley home we noticed she was a little yellow. After taking her to the pediatrician we found out that she had high levels of bilirubin. Which is what cause Jandice. We were very upset and scared for a while and had to make many trips to the doctor but she is such a troop and is doing so much better.
5 1/2 weeks later.... I am beginning to get the hang of mommyhood. Kaisley is growing so much and changes daily! She hasnt quite figured out a schedule yet, so it makes each day new and exciting for me. She keeps me on my toes thats for sure! =) She has started to coo and loves to stare.
We have kept her busy the past couple of weeks. Last weekend we took her up to Norman for her first tailgating experience. She did so good and we were able to meet and introduce her to Tatum, her "first" friend. =) Tatum is one of our best friends baby girl. Andrea and I went through the world of pregnancy together and Tatum was born 6 days after Miss Kaisley. We are so excited to see them grow up together!!
Well that is about it for now. I promise I will be better about updating.

This last weekend my aunt and cousins threw me a baby shower. It was beautiful!! They did such a great job putting all the details together and preparing for it. There were a ton of family and friends there and it was so nice to see everyone. They started the shower off with munchies and mingling and then we played some cute games. Also they passed out cards where everyone had to guess my due date, Kaisley's weight and length, eye and hair color and give me a little advice. I opened a TON of presents!! I thought they would never end. =) Let's just say Miss Kaisley is going to be one well dressed little girl!! =) I got a lot of nice things. I am very blessed with such wonderful friends and family!!
I am 34 weeks now and just waiting patiently for her to get here. Her laundry is done and her room is set up! This is the longest part of the pregnancy so far. I thought it would go by fast with the showers and getting everything set up but not really.... I think it is finally just hitting me and I just can not wait to meet her!! =) We still have one more shower and some more things to get before we are completely ready for her to be here, but we have some time. I go to the doctor tomorrow for a regular check up and I think I will start going weekly after this one. Tonight we have our second birthing class. It is going well. We have 4 other couples in there. They are all very sweet and I am excited to get to know them more. Our educator is so helpful and nice. I am glad we decided to take the class.
Well that is all I have for now. I will keep you posted on any new updates.

7 more weeks to go!!!
Wow. The time is almost here when we get to hold our precious girl!! Lately we have been busy getting ready for her arrival. Her room is almost done. All we have left to do is hang her light fixture. She is an active little girl. She moves like every 30 minutes. She is sooo strong already and I have been experiencing braxton-hicks contractions for the past two weeks. I have a feeling that she is going to be here early... but I don't want to get my hopes up. I went to the doctor last Monday and everything is going great! I got to hear Kaisley's heart beat!! It is very strong and she is measuring perfect.
For the 4th of July we went to my grandparents in East Texas. We have done it every year for the past 23 years! There are probably about 100 people that go. They are all family and friends. For the past 5 years Ryan and I have brought a group of our friends. This year the Burnetts and Penlands and Unruh came. We made a weekend out of it and rented a cabin. We always have a blast!!
This past weekend we drove to Tulsa with the Burnetts to visit the Penlands. They bought a house early this year and we had not been up there to visit. Their house is so cute!! We had a blast like we always do with them. They had the weekend planned for us. On Friday we went over to Andrea's grandma's house to swim. It felt so nice and I got a little tan on my belly!! =) That night we went to the "river walk". It is this neat strip of restaurants, a coffee shop and other stores. We walked around and listened to the live music playing and then ate dinner at very yummy Mexican restaurant. After dinner we got some gelato and headed back to their home. Saturday Angela and I went to Andrea's baby shower. She got a ton of stuff!! It made it feel so much more real.Well theres a quick update on what has been going on. Ryan and I start our birth class this Wednesday!! And my aunt and cousins are throwing me a shower on Sunday!! I am so excited!! =)

Miss Kaisley Grace Martin!
I figured I would update a little on the pregnancy and how our little girl is doing. I am now 28 weeks! Only 12 more weeks to go... that is if I go the full 40 weeks. She is getting bigger and I can defiantly feel her moving around in there which is the best feeling in the world. I went to the doctor at 26 1/2 weeks and she weighed 2 pounds!! She has been very active this past week which is very comforting. I go back to the doctor a week from today to take the glucose test. BLAH! I heard it tastes nasty! From now on I will go to the doctor every two weeks instead of four.
I can not believe it is so close!! We are getting very anxious for her to be here. We have been reading our parenting books like crazy trying to get ready for her. Ryan is really enjoying this book called, "Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters." We start our Child Birth class on July 20th which is going to be very helpful and it will be nice to meet other couples going through the same journey.
This past weekend some of my closest girl friends threw a suprise shower for my friend Andrea and I. Andrea is 2 weeks ahead of me. It was so much fun and so nice to see everyone. I love when Andrea comes to visit (she lives in Tulsa) because we get to catch up on our pregnancies and talk babies.
The bedding is here!! It is so precious. My mom came over today and helped me start decorating. We finished one wall. Her room is finally coming together!! YEAH!!

Bathing Beauty......
Who says pregnant girls cant wear bikini's? Today I went to my neighbors house to lay out by her pool. She goes out of town often and always offers her pool to us. Since today was such a beautiful day i thought I might try to get a little sun...In privacy of course!!
I have 3 1/2 more months to go! This journey has gone by pretty fast. The baby room is coming along, my mom helped me paint the room last week. We decided on a a golden beige color. It is really pretty and is going to look so good with the bedding, which is coming in 2 weeks!! As soon as I get the bedding in the room I will take a picture of it and post it. The crib is here and halfway put together. I need Ryan to help me finish it.
Well besides my growing belly there is not much going on around here. Ryan and I are just getting ready for our little bundle of joy. We started a part time business a few months ago and Ryan is doing a great job getting it going. We are meeting some amazing people through the whole experience and learning a lot about ourselves. Life is great!!

20 weeks!
YEA!! We are half way. I am loving this stage of pregnancy. Knowing that we are having a little girl and being able to call her by her name makes it all so real. Oh and I love feeling her kick! Just this week I felt her from the outside too. Ryan hasn't felt her yet, she is a little stubborn.... But my mommy felt her today. :)
We are almost finished clearing out all the junk in her room. We are having a garage sale this Friday and it will be so nice to get rid of all of it. The changing table came in today and the crib will come in mid May. I have yet to decide on her bedding. My mom and I went today to look at fabric. I found some ideas and a lady that might be able to help us out with making it. YEA! It is all coming along and the day when our little Kaisley comes will be here before we know it.
We are still not sure on a middle name for her. Help us out! Here are a few that we like. Let us know what you think. Grace, Anaiah, Eliah and Machaiah. ( I know that the last three are different and probably difficult for you to figure out how to pronounce them, but they are biblical and each have meaning to them which we thought was neat)
