Ryan and I decided that we needed a little "get away" this weekend. On Thursday he came across the idea to of going to Eureka Springs, Arkansas Saturday night, and on Friday he booked us for the night at a cute little Bed and Breakfast called "The Carriage Inn."
On Saturday, after work, we headed to Eureka. According to "mapquest" it is an estimated 4 1/2 hour drive, but of course it took us closer to 5 1/2 hours. We forgot to include the restroom breaks and bumper to bumper traffic.... So we were in the car a little longer than we wanted to be, but we had a blast talking about memories, red dirt music, friends, and the future. We spent a lot of the time just singing along to Stoney.
When we made it into town it was already dark so we couldn't see anything, and we couldn't find the place that we were staying. Finally, at about 9 we found the place. It was adorable! We had our own little cottage with a kitchen, a balcony with a wonderful view, and a jaccuzi! We were a little relieved because we were kinda scared we'd be shacking up in some shady trailer park. After we got settled in we drove to historic downtown and ate a yummy dinner at a cafe !
Sunday morning we woke up and enjoyed the beautiful weather and view from our porch.

The couple who owned the place served us an amazing breakfast where they prayed with us and shared some really neat stories. After that we headed back to downtown to walk around.
There is so much to see in Eureka.
We went down memory lane and drove to where my sister and brother-in-law got married. Ryan showed me all of the places that him and his buddies went the last time they came here. To round out the trip we had lunch at cafe Luigi's and then headed back to Norman. It was a very quick getaway but it was very much needed and worth it!!
