Eventful Weekend...

Last weekend (June 11-13) we had our annual family reunion for my dad's side. It was so much fun like always. I love seeing everyone and wish we could see them more than once a year. Everyone drives in Friday night/Saturday morning and stays all weekend. We hung out by the pool, went fishing, rode horses, ate yummy lunch and dinners, etc. So much fun!!

The Thursday before the reunion my dog Rocky figured out how to get out of the fence... (we live in my parents guest house right now and they live on like 50 acres...) Rocky is not the best at coming to you when you ask him to.... soooo annoying! So when he gets out it's never fun. Mylie is our other boxer and she jumps the fence and always has but she comes to you when you call her so it isnt that big of a deal when she gets out. Most of the time she just comes straight to the front door. So Thurday morning Rocky got out and no one could catch him. Luckily he stayed on their property but spent all day messing with the other animals and playing in the pond. Finally by like 8:30PM he decided he was hungry and ready to come home so he came pounding on the front door... urrrgh! Even more annoying is that he decided to not only mess with the farm animals but to play with a little skunk!!! SOOO he reeked of skunk and we are still trying to get that smell off of him! phew!!

The Saturday of the reunion was such a relaxing day. We just hung by the pool and caught up with everyone. Stinky Rocky stayed in his kennel in the garage but Mylie came down and hung out with us by the pool. There was another boxer there named Rally and they became best buds. Mylie showed her around the place and they played all day. Later in the day some of us were still relaxing by the pool while others rode the horses. Someone came to Ryan and I and told us that Rocky had gotten out and that they think one of our dogs got hit by a car... Immediately Ryan ran out the door and down the rode. He grabbed Rocky, (he actually came to him) put him inside and headed to 407. ( my parents live right off 407...the speed limit is 55...) He found Mylie lying on the side of the rode. We are pretty sure she died instantly. By the time I got there Ryan and my aunt were loading her into my aunts truck and my sister handed me her collar and said she was gone. We took her to the back pasture and buried her. Not the best ending to a wonderful day but I know that she had so much fun with Rally and all the people that were around. (she loves people!!) She was so good with Kaisley. She was such a wonderful dog and we miss her very much! Rocky has been wandering around the house looking for her... :(

Sunday everyone said their goodbyes and headed home! For the most part it was a great weekend!
