From 3 to 4

After a year without blogging I have decided to attempt to try it again. I love writing about our life so that I can go back and look at it and reminisce.  =) Im not the best writer so bare with me!

So heres a really quick update from the past year....

-We found out we were pregnant in February. K was 18 months.
-Ryan went on his 2nd trip to Haiti
-We lost two grandparents. Nancy, Ryan's grandmother in June and Papa, Ryan's Grandpa in September.  They were both phenomenal people who were always smiling and pleasant to be around. We were devastated and miss them so much but we know that they are at peace with our Lord now.
-K turned 2 in August
-Elijah Wyatt Martin was born on October 5.

Going from a family of 3 to 4 has been an adventure. =) We absolutely love it!! It's pretty neat to see how different two human beings can be that were made by the same two people! We have been blessed with another happy, easy baby. He's more active than K was and gets irritated more easily than K did.  It's so hard not to compare them...  =)

Our little guy is 6 months old! Half a year already! At 6 months he is:
-almost sitting up by himself
-rolling all over the place (started at 4 1/2 months)
-sleeps in child pose (so precious) =)
-wakes @ 7-7:30, goes to bed @ 7-7:30
-takes 3 naps
-eats 5 times a day
-eats sweet tators once a day
-says "da-da-da-da"
-working on some teeth bless his heart =(
-loves his big sister =)
-loves to grab his feet (and eat them) =)

Kaisley is a great big sister and has been from the start. The day he was born she would introduce him as "my Eli". We started potty training her the week Eli was born. It has actually worked out great. We just told her that since she is a big sister now that she is a big girl and needs to use the big girl potty. We have our accidents but I am proud to say that she is out of diapers! Thankful I didn't have two in diapers. It was so weird coming home from the hospital after only changing a 7 lb. baby for a couple days to changing Kaisleys diaper.... she felt like a giant!! =) She is now in a "big girl" bed too. We just took the front rail off her crib. Hoping to get her a twin bed for Christmas this year. She goes to school twice a week from 9-2 and loves it. She has developed so much from it and has made a ton of friends. It has been good for her to have some time away from  mommy and it lets me have some Eli time. =)

Theres an update about whats going on with our little family.

Blessings,
Katie
